Flower festival in Debrecen: the 44-th annual flower festival parade in Debrecen
Debrecen – Debrecen has celebrated „the baking of new bread” and St. Stephen,the foundator of the state with organizing a flower carnival since 1996.
It is definitely the biggest programme of the town every year attracting huge crowds of people, what is more, in 2012 it was repeatedly given the prize of „the excellent festival” being the member of the Hungarian Festival Association. Due to the construction works of the impressive New Sport Stadium in the big forest, the final arrival station of the flower carriages was at a different place this year. In 2013 the final station of the flower festival and the place for the folklore dance performances will be the at the athletic pitch of the Sport Centre.
Programmes at the Kossuth Square on 20th of August:
7:30 – Bicycle and oldtimer cars parade. The departure of the flower carnival from the corner of the Szent Anna and Piac streets. The visitors are welcomed with a hairshow and scythian live cooking. 20.00 – Night carneval parade and firework theatre performance
22.00 – firework and srteet bal
