The Big Forest Stadium has the strongest grass carpet in the country
Debrecen – The grass carpet was created in such a way that has never been used before on Hungarian football fields. The grass is out of use now, so it mustn’t be walked.
The Debrecen Stadium has been covered with grasscarpet. Watering equipments were installed on 15 points in case the grass would be dry. At the same time the water could be easily drained if necessary and electrical heating was also installed under the grass. The investing Ltd. stated that there is no other grass carpet like this in the country.
A plastic net system was set in the upper level just right under the grasscarpet so that the grassroots could fix in it and with the help of that the whole field will be stronger. In the meantime the grass needs to be out of use. Therefore it is taken a good care of int he Stadium. The building contractor assured that the preparedness is more than 70%, so in case of cold weather they can still continue building.
