Debrecen airport: the railway transfer place is under the roof
Debrecen – Shaping the Intermodal Centre at the airport is under progress, the frame of the transfer-and serving hall has already been built, the paving coverage has been finished.
Xanga company, operator of Airport Debrecen, has won a financial support of 1.350 billion forints to create an Intermodul Centre at the airport. As the first step of the project, the side-track connecting the airport and the Big station was renewed beside building the railway transfer hall. The investment has reached an important part nowadays since the railway transfer- and serving hall has been built up. István Herdon, general manager of Xanga stated, that they are going on with the innovations, the frame of the two halls are up and the paving is also ready.
The buildings won’t be empty for long since the Xanga-group and the Rail Cargo Hungaria PLC, owned by the Austrian railway company, signed a cooperating agreement in May about the utilization. The company was invited as a professional partner to operate the tracks and the trucking. Imre Kovács, chairman of Rail Cargo Hungaria PLC hopes that in the first period the grain trade will use this service.
